Vocational Occupation Teachers Gather at Parmarth Niketan

It was a beautiful day at Parmarth Niketan when dozens of Divine Shakti Foundation school and vocational training centre Adminstrators, Teachers and Wardens gathered together to meet with DSF Founder, President of Parmarth Niketan, Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, and DSF’s President, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, to review their successes and to plan for the future.

After beautiful blessings for the continued health and happiness of the dedicated educators – many of whom have been sharing their wisdom and experience as DSF and Parmarth’s instructors with generations of students – Pujya Swamiji and Sadhviji shared blessed Prasad, lauded their commitment to excellence in the classroom and thanking them for their divine service.

The teachers are an extremely important part of DSF’s efforts to change people’s behavior and the way they think by enhancing educational curricula to include messages of wellness, value based education, green living and improved water, sanitation and hygiene, rather than just the A-B-C’s and 2-plus-2’s which, though important, don’t address the many challenges facing society. Thanks to these teachers, children are being taught from an early age how to treat themselves, their loved ones and the planet better to ensure health and well-being for all, all while developing a set of values that will foster mindful thinking and right action.

In sharing with the teachers, Pujya Swamiji stated that “Education may bring earning but learning comes from values or sanskaras. Therefore, we need not worry so much about giving our children cars but we must give them sanskaras. Without a car or toy the child may cry for a while but, without values, they will suffer for a lifetime.”

Sadhvi Bhagawatiji, meanwhile, addressed and motivated the ladies about the larger vision and mission of DSF and Parmarth Niketan, which is to empower and skill every woman for success. She shared that “Our main aim is to empower each one of you so that you are confident so that in any given situation you have enough skills to stand strong on your own two feet.” She briefly discussed avenues by which their vocational training programme could be strengthened and how the students of these schools can further be empowered especially in values and yoga.

The schools were encouraged to continue organising monthly get togethers promoting their students talents whilst ensuring these opportunities enrich and enhance their lives. Guest lecturers and interesting, learned personalities coming to Parmarth would also come and share their experiences with the student and teachers.

The teachers were treated to a special celebratory lunch and spent a relaxing afternoon at Parmarth before heading back to their students and families, with renewed vigor and enthusiasm to continue the work of molding and shaping many more future generations.
